‘Tis The Season, For Some Cute Head Wear

Hats! Just like coats and boots, are essential for a great winter wardrobe. They’re cute, spontaneous and gives your outfit that little bit more of a boost.

The bowler hat

Cute cute cute. It can be casual but it can also be dressed up. Taylor Swift wears a relaxed button-up tee with a more formal purse and a plum hat to top off the look. The hat is definitely what gives her outfit that ‘pop’. Mostly suitable for a bob ‘do or curly hair. Pair it with a cute coat that pinches at the waist or with some lace socks and oxford heels.

The pork pie hat:

Similar to the bowler hat however the top part is flat as opposed to rounded. There are straw versions which are suitable for summer however there are also these bad-boys that are suitable for winter. This hat can be a bit more edgy in comparison to cute and Beyoncé here teams it well with a blazer, singlet and leather shorts. You can never go wrong with monochrome.

The wide-brim hat:

Suitable for autumn and winter. As you can see, tan works well with chocolate brown coloured hair whilst black is good against blonde as there is a huge contrast. As red would go very well with black hair. Suitable for long curly or straight hair. These hats are a little more ‘quiet’ than the bold coloured bowler hats, so if you’re going for something a little more subtle but still has a little flare, then this is it.

The cloche hat:

An oldie but a goodie. Very big in the 20’s, it was invented with the idea of it being shaped as a bell (cloche, meaning bell in French). This beautiful hat gives elegance and sweetness, with the brighter coloured straw-made ones more suitable for summer dresses, whereas felt ones with darker set colours are more suitable for the colder days. Whilst it used to be worn by ladies who had short bobs up to the ears, you can do what you will with your hair to complement this look.

Big Love, K
