How To Nail The Hair Tuck | Winter 2016

The hair tuck is the current ultimate in nonchalant style. It seems so effortless but actually takes some consideration and advance planning to pull off. Funny how it always seems to turn out this way. Here are a few things to keep in mind before you give the tuck a try.

Dry shampoo is your friend. Texture is vital regardless if you have curly or straight locks. This look is an ideal for working with second day hair. Curl pieces using your straightener or curling iron and gently tease segments near your crown to break up the canvas. Spritz with dry shampoo to finish – though pick one that actually absorbs your oils rather than one that just covers your scalp with powder.

This is accidental hair at its finest. It meant to look like a mistake! A couple of pieces pulled out around your face and a handful of fly away’s will ensure that your tuck has plenty of movement.

So you’ve got the perfect texture down so now you need the perfect turtleneck, oversized sweater or collared jacket to go with. This is a styling trend that has its limitations. The point is to have your hair as the focus and the aforementioned pieces maximise this. We are not suggesting you tuck your hair into a deep v neck or a strapless dress (what?!) unless you are wanting to look decidedly weird.

Who knew your hair as a scarf could look this cool?!
